Bullet Journal | September 2019

January 10, 2020

Once again, another month has flown by, and it's time to share my bullet journal set up for the month of September.

The theme I went with was 'lavendar', since September can be a stressful month and lavendar is supposed to be nice and calming. A sticker collection from EllieBeth Designs named 'A season for all things' was the perfect pack to use for my theme!

For my cover page, I did a painting of some lavendar using my Winsor and Newton paints, with a border done using some Coliro Finetec metallic watercolours, and I stuck it onto the page using GluDots. To finish it off, I outlined the flowers in a 0.3mm fineliner and then added some details using a white paint pen. I really enjoyed doing this painting and it didn't take too long. I used some stickers to fill the blank space, and wrote the name of the month following the sweep of the circle!

On the opposite page, I wrote a quote by Oscar Wilde. It says, 'All at once, summer collapsed into fall.', and I just thought it was fitting for this time of year, as we are right on the cusp of autumn! Throughout this month's set up, I used my Zebra Mildliners and a Stabilo pastel highlighter in various shades of lavendar purple, and for this quote I also used a couple of mildliners in oranges and yellows to write the word 'fall', since I thought the purple wouldn't suit the word as much.

Over the page I wrote my goals and my habit trackers. This month, my goals are to 'start writing' because I had an idea for a short story that I would like to put out there; 'keep to my post schedule', since I wanted some motivation to stick to the schedule I've planned for myself; and 'keep smiling', because I've started smiling more recently and honestly it feels so good. It makes you feel happier just to smile for no reason, and I want it to continue.

I've decided to track six habits this month, and they are to 'create' (be it sewing, drawing, or working on a craft project), 'write' (linked to my aforementioned writing goal), 'wear my FitBit', 'do 8000 steps', 'be in bed by 10pm' and 'smile'. I'm trying to make an effort to be creative, active, and sort out my damn sleep schedule.

On the next pages, I have a space for my post schedule and significant dates this month.

I've already planned what I'm going to be posting; it's a lot of vlogs from my Disney Cruise last month as well as some bullet journalling videos. I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise - we went to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, and Stavanger, and I'm looking forward to sharing my trip with you!

Many of the significant dates this month are related to going back to university. I'm excited for this year because I'm out of student accomodation and into an apartment, and in second year we get to do shows again! We already know what our first musical will be, and I'm looking forward to getting into rehearsals and and performances.

This is my first week's planning spread, and it took me a very long time to do - literally an hour, since I was watching The Handmaid's Tale at the time. It involved a lot of maths and dot-counting to get the octogons looking nice and fitting together properly. I think it looks really nice though; it's something I've not done before so it's a bit different. In the future, I'd love to do a ' bees and honey' bullet journal theme, so this layout would be very good for that!

Throughout my spreads this month, I've done a lot of doodling of lavendar and I've put my stickers to good use. If you're interested in recreating this set up, my supplies are linked below. Please note that some links may be affiliate.
