Outfit of the Day: When Life Gives You Lemons

July 17, 2019

Hello everyone!

I'm back with another Outfit of the Day post today, and this time it's this yellow outfit that's ideal for summer!

I started with a plain white button-up blouse from Marks and Spencer. I actually have multiple of the same blouse because it's ideal to wear with vintage inspired skirts! The fabric is a little bit see-through, but with a camisole underneath or a cardigan over the top it's not an issue. It's lightweight and great for warm weather, as it's made of a natural material that's breathable.

On the collar of the blouse, I pinned a little collar clip from LindyBop. It's so cute; on one side it's a wine bottle, and on the other it's the wine glass, and there's two delicate chains in between the two. It's a really nice little detail to add to an otherwise very plain blouse!

My cardigan is also from LindyBop. It's a mustard shade that I absolutely love, and the cropped style feels very fifties! I get a little bit annoyed about the gapping of the buttons; I actually sized up in this but it's still happening! I know I'm a busty gal, but when there's extra fabric and the fabric actually has a bit of stretch to it, I would expect my buttons to not have gaps between them. Nonetheless, I think it's a really nice style.

Around my waist, I'm wearing a brown belt that came with a skirt from Collectif. It's just a nice extra detail and it shapes my waist in a flattering way.

My skirt is one I bought from LindyBop a couple of years ago, but I've seen that they've recently released a dress and a skirt in the same print! I love the lemon pattern, it's so summery and cheerful. I also think the cut of this skirt with its pleats is really lovely. I'm not sure whether the skirt they're currently selling is the exact same style as this one, but it will have the same lemon print and similar pleated details.

Finally, for footwear, I'm wearing some brogues from Clark's. I love these; they're incredibly comfortable and they go with practically everything I wear. They have other colours as well, so if you'd prefer them in black or brown, the option is available.

I hope you've enjoyed this post and have found it a good source of inspiration for your own vintage-inspired outfits! For more inspiration, follow me on Instagram or check out my 'Vintage Style' board on Pinterest.
