I'm Ginger Now!

July 22, 2017

I've been blonde for the best part of a year now, and while I love it and think it suits me, I've always wanted to be ginger.

When I was in primary school, my best friend from the age of five had long, curly, ginger hair, and it was magnificent. She hated her hair, but I loved it, and still do to this day. Every natural ginger I've met in my life (and they're a rare breed) has seemed to have something special about them, a sort of spark, and while it's probably not linked to their hair, I like to think it is! ๐Ÿ˜œ

So, 13 years after I originally decided I wouldn't mind having ginger hair, I made up my mind just to do it! I've lost over two and a half stone recently, and felt a new hair colour to go with my new figure wouldn't go amiss!

I headed to Pinterest before I went to my hairdresser's, and curated a board of the colour I wanted. I pinned the pictures I was most drawn to, and found that the ginger I love is deep reddish orange, with highlights of bright copper shades. Following this, I knew exactly what colour I was going for!

I spent about three hours at the hairdressers, but that time included a consultation about the colour and style I wanted. Here is my new look!

I am extremely happy. I think it's a beautiful colour, and just what I wanted. It suits me more than blonde, in my opinion, because I think it warms my face up more, and with my skin being so pale I don't particularly suit the light colours I'd gone for!

Let's see if the ginger magic rubs off on me!
