The Body Shop Makeup Party Haul

Hello everyone!

I recently attended a Body Shop party and there was a 30% discount on products from most ranges, so obviously I took full advantage of that and bought myself all sorts of goodies! The things I bought have arrived so I thought I'd show you what I got in a haul post!

I tried this at the party and instantly fell in love. Nothing has primed my face like it. With just the smallest amount of product, you can create a smooth and flawless base. I put it over a spot and somehow it felt like Instablur had sunk it back into my skin because it just felt so smooth! I had to get it for myself.

We tried this with a swatch of eyeshadow next to it and a swatch of eyeshadow on top, and it literally doubled the pigmentation. Eyeshadow primer is great for providing a smoother application, helping the shadow stay on without creasing or fallout, and improving the appearance of it such as colour payoff.

Recently my skin has become ridiculously dry, and I knew The Body Shop's Vitamin E range is hydrating. I've seen a few making videos on Facebook when before foundation, people use oil, and I thought I'd give it a go, trying one specifically for moisture to help my foundation sit better and improve the condition of my skin.

Those of us who love our lipsticks know that dry, peeling skin on your lips + matte lipstick is not a good combination. It looks grim, and is uncomfortable as well. The Body Shop's Lipscuff is a lip scrub in a lipstick form, making it easy to use to buff away bits of dead skin. The scrub is encased in a moisturising lip balm so it's hydrating as well as exfoliating.

Our consultant, Janet, suggested using the Lipcare after the Lipscuff to further moisturise your lips. This will prevent matte lipstick drying out your lips as much. As well as this, it acts as a sort of lip primer to prevent your lipstick bleeding. You can never have too many lip balms, so I picked it up.

My favourite part of the Body Shop party was swatching all of the lipsticks. I love an orange lip look, but don't have an orange liquid lipstick, so I decided to order this. The formula is creamy and easy to apply.

This shade looks like a deep red, but swatches more of a true, bright red. I don't mid that - I think the colour still suits me nicely. Again, this is a creamy formula, and is comfortable to wear (especially following the Lipcare) since it's nowhere near as drying as many matte lipsticks are.

Since we were doing so many swatches with lots of different products, Janet showed us a product to remove it all. You swirl a cotton pad around this tin and use it to remove your makeup. This blew me away - it seemed to just melt the makeup away. It only took two or three swipes to remove everything, meaning you don't have to keep scrubbing and scrubbing at your skin, which can irritate it. A little went a long way as well; there were seven of us using it all night and we barely made a dent. There was no way I wasn't going to order it.

Thank you for reading this post. What's your favourite product from The Body Shop? Let me know in the comments!
