February Favourites

I apologise for the lack of pictures in this post. I've been performing in Little Shop of Horrors all week so I haven't had time to take/edit any! I hope you enjoy reading the post regardless, hopefully I can add pictures over the weekend.

Well, that's another month gone.

And February was another month of discovering new favourites and returning to old ones, so I thought I would kick off March with another Favourites post. Let me know in the comments what you've been enjoying this month!

1. Rain Sounds for Relaxing Sleep
This is an app I downloaded towards the end of the month to help me go to sleep. Sometimes it takes me a long time, but using this app really helps. You can select a variety of rain sounds from Light Rain to Thunderstorm. You can also adjust the sounds to play piano, or harp, or have a crackling fire as well. I really enjoy choosing my sounds before bed so I can settle down and listen to the relaxing sounds of rain. As well as this, you can lock your phone and the sound doesn't stop, unlike YouTube. Because of this, there's no distracting bright light while you're trying to get to sleep. I really enjoy using this app, and if you'd like to give it a go you can download it here on Android or here on Apple.

2. Santa Clarita Diet
This is a show I binge-watched this month. Its first episode shows mother Sheila's transformation from suburban mum to undead zombie. The series that follows is full of murder and mishaps, as well as a family desperately trying to stay normal in an endearing way. Honestly, to begin with, I wasn't impressed. It was too gory for me, and the vomit scenes outright repulsed me. Urgh. However, I couldn't stop watching and eventually ended up enjoying it a lot. I found the humour very witty and funny, and while the gore wasn't exactly to my liking, I learnt to overlook it. I want to know more, like if there is a cure for her condition that will work, and I hope there is a season two. If you want to watch it too, it's on Netflix.

3. No7 Lengthening Mascara
I've been reaching for this mascara every day. I find it gives my eyelashes length and volume, and it lasts all day for me. I use two coats when I'm done with my makeup to finish off the look, and I'm always really happy with the effect it has. It's never clumpy and doesn't result in 'spider lashes' (when your lashes look like the disgusting legs of a dozen large spiders), but it's easy to get off in an evening so I don't feel like it's causing damage to my natural lashes thanks to scrubbing or drying them out. If you want to try it for yourself, you can get it here.

4. The Biggest Loser USA
The Biggest Loser has never been my kind of show. I just never thought it would make for interesting viewing. However, when there was nothing else to watch a few weeks ago, my mum and I decided to watch it, and we were hooked. I find myself really rooting for these people, hoping they lose weight and reach their goals. When they have a big loss, I feel like I'm celebrating with them, and when they're disappointed, so am I. I watch it on Sky Living on Sundays at 6pm.

5. Makeup Revolution Lipsticks
Okay, so I know I wrote a less-than glowing review of these a while ago, but I've gotten back into wearing lipstick recently and I love these now! I find them to be very pigmented, not terribly drying, and since I have 6 different shades I'm pretty much spoiled for choice. To get some of these for yourself, check here.

That's it for my favourites this month. Thank you for reading. Don't forget to leave your own favourites in the comments section, and follow my blog in the right-hand side bar (or right at the bottom, if you're on mobile).
